You Probably Survived  If you're reading this then you have probably survived the il-fated Friday the 13th. The fear of the number 13 has been given a scientific name: "triskaidekaphobia"; and on analogy to this the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia, from the Greek words Paraskeví (Παρασκευή, meaning "Friday"), and dekatreís (δεκατρείς, meaning "thirteen").  The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci The superstition surrounding this day may have arisen in the Middle Ages, "originating from the story of Jesus' last supper and crucifixion" in which there were 13 individuals present in the Upper Room on the 13th of Nisan Maundy Thursday, the night before his death on Good Friday. While there is evidence of both Friday and the number 13 being considered unlucky, there is no record of the two items being referred to as especially unlucky in conjunction before the 19th century.  Gioachino Rossini, An early documented reference in English occurs in Henry Sutherland Edwards' 1869 biography of Gioachino Rossini, who died on a Friday 13th: He [Rossini] was surrounded to the last by admiring friends; and if it be true that, like so many Italians, he regarded Fridays as an unlucky day and thirteen as an unlucky number, it is remarkable that on Friday 13th of November he passed away.  It is possible that the publication in 1907 of Thomas W. Lawson's popular novel Friday, the Thirteenth, contributed to disseminating the superstition. In the novel, an unscrupulous broker takes advantage of the superstition to create a Wall Street panic on a Friday the 13th.  A suggested origin of the superstition—Friday, 13 October 1307, the date Philip IV of France arrested hundreds of the Knights Templar—may not have been formulated until the 20th century. It is mentioned in the 1955 Maurice Druon historical novel The Iron King (Le Roi de fer), John J. Robinson's 1989 work Born in Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry, Dan Brown's 2003 novel The Da Vinci Code and Steve Berry's The Templar Legacy (2006).  At any rate there you have the whole Friday the 13th legacy for your understanding, knowledge, and appreciation.  |

I heard the Nights Templar one.I overheard on the radio about theres actually a norse version in the scandenavian region a thirteenth guy who killed the other 12 royals encounter ,mayby you know that one? Was also attributed to the Friday the thirteenth curse aparantly.

Ok the Viking story was, 12 gods were feasting at Vallhalla ,then the 13 uninvited guest Loki  came in and killed the god of joy and happiness, Baldur. then the earth was plunged into darkness thus became the Norse version of the fear of Friday the 13th ,so it was said.

I'm glad that others had a good day on Friday the 13th-- mine wasn't so good. I had some computer problems, finding out that it was nearly 90% infected with various kinds of viris's. Getting it "disinfected" blew one helluva hole in my checking account. Hope I don't get any more Friday the 13th's like it---- EVER AGAIN!!!!

Once I saw the Golden GATESs from my Car WiINDOWS. I was in a crossing mood at the time and felt a little bit high also. In having a very very small penis. I can only venture to guess it was MICRO SOFT at that time also. this Crossing took its TOLL on me also.. It was not a PUN experience either. and in closing, Not liking black puss or any pussy for that matter, I wont choose the LATTER!!!
